We have incorporated this unique technology into products that have been engineered to economically protect drains, sumps, and storm water drains.

Petro Barrier Floor Drain Solutions:
These devices efficiently protect standard pipe floor drains, and are some of our most popular products.  They allow for the relatively free flow of water, while providing filtering of small amounts of grease and oil.  In the case of a major spill of oil, they will stop the flow of all liquids into the drain.  They come in sizes ranging from 3” diameter upwards. A flexible version is available for drains that are not straight.  For outdoor applications, an optional Leaf Barrier™ can be attached to help keep the product from becoming clogged with debris and grit.

Storm Drain Barrier Oil and Grit/Water Separator
This new product is essentially a miniature oil/water separator, and is also excellent at preventing grit and dirt from entering the drain.  It can be used on its own to prevent oil sheen from entering the drain, and is most suitable for applications where a large spill of contaminants is unlikely.  For example, it is ideal for preventing oil sheen from entering sewers in parking lots etc.  An optional floating pad can also be added to increase the amount of oil that can be handled.  For applications where grit and dirt are present but there is also the possibility of large amounts of contaminants entering the sewer, this device can be used in conjunction with the Basket Filter. This combination offers complete containment along with the ability to prevent debris from clogging the Basket Filter™ pads.

Petro Barrier Storm Drain Basket Filter Protector
This unique device is comprised of a mesh body that is filled with Petro Pads™ containing the special absorbent materials.  It can be easily inserted into storm drains, and is effective at removing oil sheen, while at the same time allowing easy passage of water into the drain.  In the case of a large spill however, the absorbent will act to completely stop the flow of liquids into the drain, preventing contamination of the water system.  The pad can be easily removed and replaced.

Petro Barrier Pressure Filter Solutions
This product has been designed to treat bilge water from marine vessels, oil contaminated water pumped from sumps and as a polishing filter for water exiting from oil/water separators.  A modified version can remove trace heavy metals from wastewater including copper, iron, lead, zinc and mercury amongst others. The 3 sizes which are currently available can deal with pump capacities ranging up to 25gal/min and larger sizes can be offered for greater pumping rates.

Petro Barrier Berm Barrier Wall Solution
These innovative products are designed for situations where the installation of a vertical product is not an option. They are attached directly to a berm wall, and allow for optimal water flow, while maintaining the reliable oil containment features of our other products.

Petro Barrier Pads
The Petro Pad is a polyester “pocket” filled with absorbent material.  It is designed for use in basket filters, California type drains, sumps and under equipment leaking oil.  Any hydrocarbon oils are absorbed while water passes through the pad.
