MORE ACCURATE, LONG-DISTANCE WIRELESS STATION
A new, more accurate, longer distance, wireless total station, the Topcon GPT-3100W model, is now available for the surveying and civil engineering market. Topcon Positioning Systems has developed the “multi-pulse” electronic distance meter (EDM) that can take readings at 1,150 feet. Additionally, the GPT-3100W has a more narrow relectorless beam (.8 inches by .4 inches at 164 feet), and is designed for easier maintenance. The new model replaces the GPT-3000W; the GPT-3000LW, which has a reflectorless EDM of 4,000 feet, will still be available. Additionally, the new model retains the dual-optical design for maximum measuring accuracy at all times. The laser is safe for all conditions, making it ideal for use in high-traffic and other heavily populated areas.
