The 2View provides a method for imaging a specimen in two orthogonal views with minimal compression and no manipulation. Clinical articles indicate that compression can create false negative margins (pancake phenomenon) and that manipulation can create false positive margins by damaging the tissue a er excision. With a 2View there is no compression or manipulation so radiologists and pathologists can more confidently determine margin results for the surgeon. The specimen travels from surgery to imaging and pathology completely untouched. The 2View can be used in any dedicated specimen imaging device (such as a Faxitron) or regular mammography unit.
