SAKAI’S CR270 MODELLED AFTER LARGER MACHINES
Sakai’s CR270 is a 35.4-inch-wide compact vibratory asphalt roller which was modelled after their field-proven larger asphalt versions. It has the same high frequency of 4,000 vpm as Sakai’s larger machines. A combination of rear-drum static forces and internal front-drum vibration with centrifugal forces up to 2,975 pounds, contribute to the CR270’s impressive performance. This roller achieves ten impacts per foot (10 ipf) at 4.55 mph ground speed which makes it possible to achieve specified density faster.
It has the thickest drum shell of all rollers in its class, the company reports, and alloy steel drum edges are rounded to promote a smooth mat surface. Excellent curb clearance provides flush rolling up to 13.4 inches above the drum surface.
The CR270, compact ride-on tandem vibratory asphalt roller is designed for pedestrian or bicycle paths, parking lots, driveways, small roads, road widening, patchwork and other small asphalt applications. The short wheelbase allows for easy maneuverability and tight turning radius, especially useful in confined areas. Articulated centre-pivot steering ensures front and rear drums track each other while providing consistent forces and densities over full rolling widths even when rounding a curve or cul-de-sac. Spring-loaded, adjustable scraper bars mean good surface contact and a wet drum from edge to edge.
The CR270 is powered by a fuel-efficient Honda GX-610, a water-cooled gasoline engine that develops 17.8 hp at 3600 rpm.
