Oil and gas drilling rigs on display

OIL AND GAS DRILLING RIGS ON DISPLAY

With 8,800 square feet of space, the Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions outdoor booth is one of the larger displays at the Global Petroleum Show 2008. The company will be exhibiting two oil and gas drilling rigs. The RD20 rig will feature a Range III derrick capable of 120,000 pounds (54,430 kg) of pullback and a high-torque rotary head with 8,000 foot-pounds/0-120 rpm capabilities.

The second rig is an Atlas Copco TH60LD, specifically designed for drilling in the tar sands and other applications in Western Canada. It is a truck-mounted, truck-powered rig in the 70,000-pound (32,000 kg) class. The rig is mobile, handles Range III casing and is fitted out for summer or winter operations.
